The primary workflow links (B) designate the external workflow between teams, some chain of which must add up to the overall input-output system of the organization as a whole; i.e., the internal processes of an organization must deliver on its externally-mandated purpose. All the complexity of the team’s internal workflow can be simplified as an external process flow between the two team leaders representing the respective supplier-customer teams. This is the dynamic of interrelated outputs that the organization must map and take responsibility for, while the team takes care of the details internally in a workflow deployment network (implicit or explicit).
